Say Yes to Drugs campaign

This fall, the Harvard 'Say Yes to Drugs' campaign has inspired students, staff and faculty across campus with their bold campaign in support of access to essential medicines. The SYD campaign is focused on how Harvard's scientific discoveries become available to the world's poorest people, and on realizing the principles set out in the Statement of Principles and Strategies for the Equitable Dissemination of Medical Technologies

Inspired by Harvard's commitment not to allow intellectual property to become a barrier to essential health-related technologies needed by patients in the global south, members of the Harvard Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) chapter founded the SYD campaign to raise awareness within the Harvard community.

A rally was held on November 19th in Harvard Yard at 3:45 p.m. to outline the issues raised by the Statement of Principles and Strategies, and to bring together students, staff and faculty in support of the campaign. See coverage in The Crimson here.
